A shocking incident has emerged from Agra where an SBI clerk, Surendra Pal Singh, has gone missing after leaving behind a letter detailing severe mental harassment and humiliation by a senior official. The letter, handed to his nephew, reveals allegations of verbal abuse and a toxic work environment at the bank. As police launch a search operation, the family fears the worst.
An FIR has been registered at Rakabganj Police Station under Section 351(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for criminal intimidation. Prior to lodging the FIR, Singh’s family had approached the Deputy General Manager (DGM) and other senior officials of the bank in the Agra circle, requesting them to take appropriate action against the Assistant General Manager (AGM). However, when no action was taken by the bank authorities, the family proceeded to file a complaint with the police.
Below is the letter written by Surendra Pal Singh
Singh’s wife stated that he had been transferred to the current branch three months ago, and since then, he had been subjected to continuous mental harassment by the Assistant General Manager (AGM). She emphasized that Singh had been a sincere and dedicated employee with nearly 17 years of service in the bank. He was also the sole breadwinner of the family.
This incident highlights a broader and deeply concerning issue of workplace harassment, which can have serious emotional and psychological impacts on employees, especially in high-pressure environments such as the banking sector.
