Scheduled commercial banks in India that are owned by the government and function at the regional level across various states are known as Regional Rural Banks, or RRBs.
Based on the suggestions of the Narsimha Committee on Rural Credit, the Regional Rural Banks were founded. The Regional Rural Banks Act 1976 was approved by the Indian government in response to the committee’s recommendations, and RRBs were founded throughout the country. Developing the rural economy is the primary goal of the development of Regional Rural Banks.
RRBs from the same sponsor banks were combined in 2005 as part of the merger process. In order to become Baroda Gujarat Gramin Bank, Panchmahal Vadodara Gramin Bank, Surat Bharuch Gramin Bank, and Valsad Dang Gramin Bank merged. In the same way, Sabarkantha Gandhinagar Gramin Bank, Kutch Gramin Bank, and Banaskantha Mehsana Gramin Bank amalgamated to form Dena Gujarat Gramin Bank.
Methods for Checking Balance through Miss Call Facility
Taking advantage of technology, the Bank has introduced the Missed Call facility for balance inquiry to provide customers with hassle-free and convenient banking services. Customers who registered their mobile numbers can simply call to 7829977711 to obtain the balance of their accounts.
There is no charge for this service and this facility is open around-the-clock. This feature will be used to deliver the balance of accounts within the categories of Saving Bank (SB), Current Account (CA), Overdraft (OD), and Cash Credit (CC).
The same cellphone number may be used by a customer for many accounts. Then, clients will receive two SMSs, each with a maximum character count of 320. Customers can use Contact Service Center or SMS Banking Services for any remaining accounts.
Maximum five times a day may be used by a customer for this service.
