Bank Of Baroda Executive Director Mr. Lalit Tyagi has been proposed as MD and CEO of Central Bank of India, replacing the earlier recommendation of Mr. Kalyan Kumar for that role. He has over 28 years of extensive experience in various areas of banking, especially in corporate finance, risk management, international banking, and administrative roles. Throughout his career, he has worked in many branches and offices across India and abroad.
The proposal has been submitted to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final clearance. The ACC’s decision will officially confirm the appointment, likely within the coming days.

- He has Post Graduate Diploma in Banking & Finance (PGDBF) from National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM), Pune.
- Also a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers.
Mr. Lalit Tyagi Professional Experience
- Shri Lalit Tyagi began his career as a Probationary Officer at Bank of Baroda in 1996.
- He has successful experience of leading Bank’s important units including serving as Regional Head of the Bangalore Region, General Manager and Branch Head of the Bank’s largest Corporate Financial Services Branch in Mumbai, and Chief General Manager (Chief Executive) of the Bank’s largest overseas operations in the United States, based in New York.
- Prior to his appointment as Executive Director of Bank of Baroda he was the Chief Executive of Bank’s US Operations, New York.
- He has also served as Director in Canbank Computer Services Ltd. (CCSL a wholly owned subsidiary of Canara Bank) and Non-Executive Chairman of Bank of Baroda (Guyana) Inc. in the past.
- As Executive Director in Bank of Baroda, he currently looks after Corporate & Institutional Banking, Treasury & Global Markets, Mid-Corporate Business, International Banking, Domestic Subsidiaries/ Joint Ventures.
Mr. Lalit Tyagi is known for his leadership and motivational skills. He has been identified as one of Public Sector Bankers by Bank’s Board Bureau (now known as Financial Services Institutions Bureau) for future leadership roles.
