HDFC became the third Indian Company after crossing the ₹15-trillion market capitalisation mark for the first time on Tuesday. In last six trading days, the bank’s stock price has gone up by 11%. Since HDFC is one of the biggest stocks in major indices like Sensex, Nifty and Bank Nifty, its growth impacted and helped to boost the entire stock market.

Reliance Industries – ₹17.5 trillion
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) – ₹12 trillion
Bharti Airtel – ₹10.56 trillion
HDFC Bank – ₹15.01 trillion
ICICI Bank – ₹10.09 trillion (crossed ₹10 trillion for the first time on Monday)
These five companies together make up 15% of India’s total stock market. Though Reliance and TCS being the biggest companies, their share prices have dropped about 20–25% from their highest levels.
