Empowering Women: Bank of Baroda Signs TN-SRLM Deal at Global Women Summit 2026

Bank of Baroda’s Chennai Zone has signed an agreement with the Tamil Nadu State Rural Livelihoods Mission (TN-SRLM). This agreement was signed during the Global Women Summit 2026, which was held at the Chennai Trade Centre on January 29, 2026. The summit was organised by the Tamil Nadu State Rural Livelihoods Mission (TN-SRLM) along with TN-WESAFE. It brought together Bank of Baroda and other leading public sector banks on one platform.

The agreement means that Bank of Baroda and TN-SRLM will work together, especially to support women and improve rural livelihoods in Tamil Nadu. Through this agreement, Bank of Baroda will provide banking and financial services to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) supported by TN-SRLM across Tamil Nadu. This will help women SHGs get easier access to loans, savings accounts, and other financial facilities to support their livelihoods and small businesses.

The event was attended by Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and several senior government and bank officials, highlighting the importance of the partnership in promoting women empowerment, promoting self-employment and strengthening rural livelihoods in the state.
