21st IBA Annual Banking Technology Awards 2025 – Overview

The 21st IBA Annual Banking Technology Awards 2025 ceremony was held on January 9, 2026 in Mumbai, as part of the IBA’s 21st Annual Technology Conference, Expo, and Citation for the 2024–2025 cycle. They presented the Banking Technology Awards 2025 to recognize Indian banks for excellence in digital transformation, technology use, AI/ML, cybersecurity, fintech, and related areas.

According to info on awards distribution – SBI, Union Bank of India, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Canara Bank, Punjab National Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, and IndusInd Bank were all recognized at the awards, receiving honors ranging from winners to runner‑ups across categories such as technology, digital engagement, fintech adoption, and AI/ML — reflecting widespread acknowledgment of excellence throughout the sector.

Key highlights of the event:

  • Bank of Baroda – shines at IBA Banking Technology Awards 2025. Bank of Baroda won five awards at the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) Banking Technology Awards 2025. The honors were received by senior officials, including MD & CEO Dr. Debadatta Chand and Executive Director Shri Sanjay V. Mudaliar.

The bank received first place in four categories:

  1. Best Use of AI and Machine Learning – recognizing strong innovation.
  2. Best Use of Fintech and Digital Public Infrastructure – highlighting modern digital services.
  3. Best IT Risk Management – for safe and secure technology practices.
  4. Best Technology Talent – celebrating the bank’s skilled IT professionals.
  5. Special Recognition – awarded a special mention as one of the Best Technology Banks. 
  • Bank of India – Won 4 awards at IBA Banking Conference.
  1. Runner-up Award for Fintech Collaboration
  2. Special Mentions under Best AI/ML
  3. Special Mentions under Best Tech Talent
  4. Special Mentions under Best Digital Sales

The awards were accepted by the Bank’s senior leadership, including MD & CEO Rajnish Karnatak, ED Rajeev Mishra, and CGM & CTO Satyendra Singh, along with the IT team. These recognitions highlight the success of Bank of India’s digital transformation journey and reflect the Bank’s strong engagement with customers and the fintech ecosystem.

  • Central Bank of India – Under the leadership of Shri Kalyan Kumar, MD & CEO, Central Bank of India was recognized for Best Digital Financial Inclusion and Best Technology Talent at the 21st IBA Annual Banking Technology Awards 2024–25.

The awards were received by Shri Mahendra Dohare, Executive Director, Shri Mohit Kodnani, General Manager – IT/Digital, along with the bank’s IT team.

  • Union Bank of India -had a great showing at the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) 21st Annual Banking Technology Awards 2025, winning the Best Technology Bank of the Year Award. The awards were received by Executive Director Shri Nitesh Ranjan along with other senior officials of the bank. These honors highlight our leadership in digital banking, commitment to financial inclusion, and the hard work of every Unionite.
  • Indian Overseas Bank was recognized at the 2025 IBA Technology Awards, winning five accolades across multiple categories, including Best Tech Talent & Organization and Best AI & ML Adoption.
  • Bank of Maharashtra: won IBA Awards in five different categories , covering IT risk, fintech, and more. This is a special achievement for the Bank, as it has won these prestigious awards for the third year in a row.
  • Meanwhile, South Indian Bank also made a strong showing at the awards, securing multiple podium finishes, including Best Tech Talent and other technology-related categories.

These awards show how India’s banking sector is moving strongly toward better digital     services.
